The eldest of the three siblings (only by a few minutes, but these things matter). The three were orphaned at a young age by an act of treachery and brutality. Each reacted differently to the loss; the already quiet and introverted Sorin withdrew. His relationship with Caleb was taxed almost beyond repair, while Lucy wouldn't leave him alone, regardless of how he treated her. Years later, Sorin is convinced he abandoned brother and sister, and the guilt fuels him more than any sense of bitterness or vengeance ever could. He is still distant and aloof, because some habits never go away, but he will never abandon the family he has left. If either of them are in need, he doesn't hesitate.
